Doctors are working 24/7 to help those with a rare form of leukemia

There’s something to be said about round-the-clock care, and a dedicated staff of oncologists are providing just that to patients with a very rare cancer, acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).

Dr. Anand Jillella, chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, is one of the NCI-funded trial’s co-principal investigators, and he’s working to see if 24/7 care can help more patients survive the often complicated first few weeks of treatment.
