Doctor of Physical Therapy School attends Physical Therapy Day at state capital

On January 21, the 2016 class of the Doctor of Physical Therapy School at GRU attended the Physical Therapy Day at the Georgia Capitol.  There were over 300 students and licensed physical therapists from over the state to attend the meeting.

This coordinated grassroots event allowed members and non-members to participate in a full agenda of activities demonstrating the physical therapy profession’s strong presence in Georgia and shining light on current issues affecting the practice of physical therapy.

As an assignment, the students were to meet with legislators in the House of Representatives or Senate and then write an advocacy letter to their home legislator regarding several key issues pertaining to physical therapy practice in the state of Georgia.
