Dental College of Georgia students working on new educational video

It may look like a space for dental students to learn the skills necessary for their career, but last week the Dental College of Georgia was transformed into with lights, cameras and student actors.

The students behind the Comprehensive Oral health Promotion and Education (COPE) with Cancer student organization filmed their next training video.

“It will be a tool showing patients why it is so important to include a dentist when creating their cancer care team,” said Dahlia Levine, a founding member of COPE with Cancer. “Oral complications are the norm, not the exception, for those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment.”

Levine said the new video should be available for viewing and sharing before the Thanksgiving holiday break.

She, along with Zach Dubin, Nadia Heidari, Varun Iyer, and Diana Tran, produced a video earlier this year teaching people how to perform a self-exam in their home to look for signs of oral cancer. Watch that video here.
