DCG’s Give a Smile dental charity to host 5K fundraiser

The Dental College of Georgia‘s Give a Smile dental charity will host a 5K run/walk fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Lake Olmstead Trailhead on the Augusta Canal Trail.

The event is a fundraiser to support the Give a Smile program, a student-led organization at Augusta University that provides dental care to patients facing financial challenges.

The Give a Smile program was established in 2004 by a group of students who recognized the need for affordable dental care in the community. The program has since grown to serve more than 10,000 patients, providing them with the dental care they need to improve their overall health and well-being.

The 5K Dental Dash is a fun way to show your support for the Give a Smile program and get some exercise at the same time. The race is open to all ages and abilities, and participants can choose to run or walk the course. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Give a Smile program.

There are three ways to support the 5K Dental Dash:

  • • Register to run or walk the race. Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children.
    • Donate to the Give a Smile Program. You can donate any amount you like, and your donation will help provide dental care to patients in need.
    • Share the event with friends and family and encourage them to participate or to donate.

Register for the race or donate here. For additional information, email the Give a Smile program.
