Construction of the Chafee Avenue Medical Office Building will begin Monday, Nov. 26. This new building will be located at 1017 Chafee Avenue, directly behind the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. Construction is scheduled for completion in late fall 2019.
The project includes the relocation of Augusta University’s Ryan White Program and Augusta University Medical Center’s Infectious Diseases clinic to a new medical office building. The building, which will be in close proximity to Augusta University and Augusta University Medical Center, will encompass 17,570 square feet of clinical, administrative and patient education space. The facility will include new exam rooms, a laboratory and pharmacy, private waiting room and counseling space.
Some parking spots in AU Health Lot 49 will be displaced as part of this project —spaces located within the red border in the Site Logistics Plan. Parking and Transportation Services will notify permit holders and post notice signs on barricades in the lot on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Displaced permit holders can park in Lot 55 (former Kroger Lot) starting on Nov. 26.
