Five Augusta University students and one faculty member from the College of Science and Mathematics presented at the Georgia Academy of Sciences Meeting at Young Harris College on March 24 and 25.
Students Courtney Morrison (faculty mentor: Dr. Andy Hauger), Kenny Stiwinter (faculty mentor: Dr. Trinanjan Datta), Vattika Sivised (faculty mentor: Dr. Theja De Silva), William Reeves (faculty mentor: Dr. Tom Colbert) and Mike Roeber (faculty mentor: Hauger) showed up strong to the “Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology” section of the meeting.
In long-standing university tradition, an Augusta student, Morrison, won best presentation of the session.
Dr. Josefa Guerrero-Millan, assistant professor of Physics, also presented.
Colbert, assistant chair of the Department of Physics and Chemistry, said the meeting is always a great opportunity to show off the quality of the university’s best and brightest.
“[We’re] proud of all the presentations made and the showing of our students at this meeting,” Colbert said. “We are clearly a dominant factor making this meeting a success.”
