The Regents Faculty/Department Awards program was established by the Board of Regents to recognize the excellence of Georgia’s public college and university faculties. The Regents’ Teaching Excellence Awards and Regents’ Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award typically include a monetary award as well as statewide recognition. Nominees will also be recognized locally. Please consider submitting an application and/or identify colleagues or programs that would be deserving of one of these awards.
The Process
The Regents Award Advisory Committee has developed a timeline for processing and review of applications. Preliminary applications are due on April 3 as one .pdf file sent to judycooke@gru.edu. We are only able to submit one nomination from GRU for each award; review of preliminary applications and selection of nominees for each award category will be made by April 15, and feedback will be distributed to applicants soon after. Completed applications from selected nominees will be submitted to the University System of Georgia Office of Academic Affairs and must be completed during fall semester. The Office of Faculty Development and Teaching Excellence will arrange for the nomination letter from the Executive Vice President and Provost.
