Building access changes begin July 2 on Health Sciences Campus

In order to ensure appropriate workplace security, beginning Monday, July 2, faculty, staff and students will be required to use their Augusta University ID cards to gain access to the Interdisciplinary Research Center (CA) and the Sanders R&E Building (CB) at any time day or night.

The Cancer Research Center (CN) will have open access from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and the entrance to the building will be staffed with a greeter during those times. All other times will require card access.

The buildings will no longer be staffed by university police.

Adherence to the following safety procedures will help ensure maximum security:

  • Do not prop doors open.
  • Do not let unauthorized individuals in behind you when you enter.
  • Work with visitors in advance to provide them building access when needed.

If you have safety concerns or see someone who doesn’t belong in the building, contact Augusta University police dispatch at 706-721-2911.

The safety of  faculty, staff and students is Augusta University Police Department’s top priority, and implementing these changes to procedure will help serve that end.
