‘Blade Runner’ on the big screen on Friday, Feb. 27

The Cinema Series at GRU will offer a screening of the classic science fiction film “Blade Runner” at the Maxwell Theatre on Friday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m.

“Blade Runner” is a haunting look at reality, memory, and mortality set against the dystopian future of Los Angeles, 2019. Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is a former “Blade Runner” called out of retirement to hunt and kill four “replicants.” Before his search is over, Deckard will find himself falling in love, facing off in brutal hand-to-hand combat, and most troubling, facing the suspicion that he might be a replicant himself.

Admission is free for GRU students, faculty, and staff thanks to the GRU Office of Student Life and Engagement. Because of the generous support of the Bee’s Knees, Sky City, and the Westobou Festival, admission is free to the public as well.
