The Augusta University Writing Center will operate virtually for the duration of summer sessions in 2021.
All students, faculty and staff can schedule live online chat appointments through the Writing Center’s scheduling software, WCOnline.
In addition to live online chat consultations, which offer video, audio and text-chat features, along with a white-board collaborative space, the Writing Center is introducing written feedback online appointments for all AU community members. This option allows writers to upload their assignment and prompt to their appointment form in WCOnline to receive written feedback from staff without a live online appointment. This form of support has previously only been available to faculty, graduate students and staff. This summer marks the first semester written feedback online consultations will be made available to undergraduates.
The choice to extend this service to all AU community members was made to fulfill the Writing Center’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The pandemic made staff aware that not all students could access in-person and/or live online consultations due to disabilities, limited access to campus, technology and other commitments. The Writing Center hopes to make writing support more accessible to all members of the AU community through this new form of support.
