Augusta University support growing in local lawns

Community support for the name change to Augusta University is becoming more pronounced as “We Love and Support Augusta University” yard signs are popping up all across town.

The signs, sold for $10 at several local businesses, were first available along with $5 bumper stickers at the Alumni BBQ on Oct. 9.

“We believe that education is the key to a healthy community and are happy to be a beginning for this grass roots effort,” said Rick Toole, president of W.R. Toole Engineers and the chair of the Augusta University Foundation.

Contributions to the Greater University Fund at Augusta University are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Signs and bumper stickers are available at Sprint Foods, Georgia Bank & Trust, State Bank, WifeSaver, Augusta First Bank and Trust, Simon’s Formal Wear, Surrey Center Pharmacy, Midtown Market, French Market Grille, Jim Hudson Lexus and Phoenix Printing.
