Augusta University offers free HIV testing

EVENT: June 27 is National HIV Testing Day and, in an effort to shed more light on this disease, Augusta University will host free, rapid HIV testing.

BACKGROUND: An estimated 1.1 million people in the United States are living with HIV and Georgia ranks among the highest in the nation for people being diagnosed with the virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

WHEN: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 27

WHERE: Walgreens at 3228 Wrightsboro Rd. in Augusta.
