Be sure to get vaccinated this flu season.

Flu season is here, and Augusta University is hosting a Parking Lot Palooza for AU Health employees to receive their flu shots.

This year’s flu season overlaps the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to spike across the state and the nation. Augusta University Health officials warn this combination of highly contagious respiratory illnesses could result in an unprecedented health crisis, but they hope to lessen the impact by encouraging the community to get their annual flu shots.

Media is invited to attend this event at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Parking lot 55 on the Augusta University Health Sciences campus.

Video, photo and interview opportunities are available. If you are interested in covering this event, contact Danielle Harris by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at 706-564-9282.
