Ronald A. Booth, a licensed engineer with more than 30 years of experience in facilities and construction, has been named vice president of Facilities at Augusta University, effective June 1, 2019.
Booth had been serving as executive director of Facility Operations at Auburn University since 2014, where he led a workforce of 450 employees in construction, maintenance and infrastructure across more than 1,800 acres of facilities and grounds at the historic campus.
“Ron has a wealth of knowledge and experience in engineering, systems and project management, facilities services, planning and construction. In addition, he has both university and healthcare construction experience. He will be a tremendous asset for Augusta University as we continue growing and advancing our campus master plan,” said Dr. Karla Leeper, executive vice president for Operations.
Booth previously served as director of program management and project execution for Facilities Management at Auburn. Prior to that, he served in progressively responsible positions in Facilities, Design and Construction at The Ohio State University, which included oversight of construction projects for OSU Medical Center.
Booth began his career as a systems engineer with Advanced Technology Engineering Solutions in Reston, Virginia, and moved into project management for Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio; Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, in East Hartford, Connecticut; and with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
He earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio, and a master of business administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. He is a licensed professional engineer.
