AU Baseball hosts cancer awareness game April 21

The Augusta University baseball team hosts the annual cancer awareness game on Saturday, April 21, against Georgia College. The Peach Belt Conference contest begins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Once again, the Jaguars are teaming with the Augusta University Georgia Cancer Center to spread support and awareness for all types of cancer. T-shirts were sold throughout the month of March and early April and all proceeds go directly to our cancer center. The Georgia Cancer Center will be on site for the game to take donations, inform fans on how to get involved, and hand out items to the crowd.

“Our cancer center is obviously a tremendous asset to our university and local community,” Director of Athletics Clint Bryant said. “We love doing our annual cancer awareness games at various sporting events and we are looking forward to another great day with our baseball team later this month.”

Augusta meets Georgia College for a three-game league series on the weekend – meeting the Bobcats Friday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Fans who ordered t-shirts can purchase and pick them up the day of the game at Lake Olmstead Stadium. For more information contact austrikeoutcancer@gmail.com.
