Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday services Wednesday, Feb. 18, will be provided by the GRU Department of Pastoral Care at the following places and times:

6 a.m., Medical Center Main Operating Room
Fr. Dolen, Episcopal Priest

Noon, Medical Center Main Chapel, 2nd floor
Fr. Joe Lea, Roman Catholic Priest

3 p.m., Medical Center Main Chapel, 2nd floor
Chaplain Larry Jesion, Episcopal Deacon

Ashes are available throughout the day for our patients, families, and staff by calling 706-721-2929 and requesting a chaplain.

  • I think I made this same comment last year, and am not sure there was a reply. As a University, presumably we exist primarily for students. Most of our students take all of their classes on the Summerville campus. Of the three Ash Wednesday services, none of them are on the Summerville campus. Why not?
