Augusta University names new vice president for Enrollment and Student Affairs

Dr. Susan Davies is the vice president of Enrollment and Student Affairs at Augusta University.

Augusta University announced today the appointment of Susan Davies, associate vice chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, as the new vice president for Enrollment and Student Affairs, effective March 15, 2018.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Davies join us to serve in this important role at our institution. She brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience that will further advance our efforts in enrollment management and student affairs,” said Augusta University Provost Gretchen Caughman.

In her role as vice president, Davies will oversee units including Admissions, Financial Aid, Military & Veterans Affairs, Student Life and Engagement, Student Health, Student Recreation, Student Counseling & Psychological Services, Testing and Disability Services, Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre and Student Housing.

During her time at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Davies led the Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, developed strategic integration opportunities for six doctoral colleges, and was responsible for a nearly $2 million budget.

Prior to working at UTHSC, she served eight years at the Appalachian State University as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, which involved supervising 100 staff members and a nearly $11 million budget.

She is a member of several organizations including the American Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers and she is the former Annual Conference College Tour Chair of the Southern Association of College Admissions Counseling.

Davies earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University, a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and a doctoral degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
