Signing the articulation agreement

Day one of Cyber Georgia @ Augusta University: NSA agreement, keynotes and cyber security information

The third annual Cyber Georgia @ Augusta University conference began on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the J. Harold Harrison, MD Education Commons on the Health Sciences Campus.

For two days, cyber experts from around the country gathered together to discuss cyber security, education and recruitment.

Cyber Georgia kicked off with the signing of an articulation agreement between the university and the National Security Agency. The articulation agreement provides educational opportunities for NSA students who want to complete their bachelor’s degree at Augusta University.

Richard Ledgett, deputy director of the NSA, gave the first keynote address of the conference. Major General John B. Morrison, commander at Fort Gordon Cyber Center of Excellence, and G.B. Cazes, vice president of the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City, La., also gave keynote addresses.

One of the goals of Cyber Georgia is to bring together senior military personnel, business leaders, industry experts and the academic community for critical discussions on working together to strengthen cybersecurity, according to Augusta University President Dr. Brooks Keel.
