Title IX/sexual harassment policy training required for university employees by Sept. 30

The following communication about the Title IX Sexual Misconduct Policy was distributed on Wednesday, August 31.

At Augusta University, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and the responsibility to ensure a respectful, healthy and safe work environment rests with all of us.

Our university, along with all University System of Georgia institutions, recently implemented the Title IX Sexual Misconduct Policy, a state and federal mandate that requires colleges and universities to educate, train and clearly define a reporting structure for all allegations of sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking. In addition, it is important for you to know your rights if you feel you have been a victim of discrimination or harassment.

To ensure that all university employees understand their rights and responsibilities under Title IX, a required training module, Haven, produced by Everfi, will be emailed to you on or before Sept. 1, 2016; you must complete it by Sept. 30.

At Augusta University, we take any allegation of discrimination or harassment very seriously.
