The Seal

The Augusta University seal incorporates several different elements into one mark honoring the long and important traditions of both legacy schools.

The Torch represents education and research, with the rays representing the power of healing.

The Oak Leaves invoke the Arsenal Oak, which predates all of the entities on the seal and shares a direct correlation with the Summerville Campus.

The Greek columns and pediment of the Old Medical College represent the heritage of the Health Sciences Campus, flanked by the establishment date.

The segmented outer ring is in direct proportion to the sundial on the Summerville Campus, representing the university’s history as well as its progress and potential.
