Applications open for Student Advisory Council through Sept. 24

Applications for the Student Advisory Council are now open through Sept. 24.

The Student Advisory Council, managed by the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs, encourages students to be engaged and responsible contributors in their campus, local and global communities. The primary purpose of the group is to suggest ways to increase student learning and improve student life at Augusta University.

Members will serve as trusted advisors to the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs and will be well-informed on university matters.

Council meetings are hosted twice a semester by the vice president for Enrollment and Student Affairs, Dr. Susan Davies. All student types are encouraged to apply.

“Undergraduate, graduate and professional student voices are needed for our Student Advisory Council. Their active participation positively impacts our campus,” said Davies.

“This year we will be listening to their ideas to increase our enrollment, including recruitment and retention initiatives, as well as how to engage all of our students in student life and leadership activities.”

The Student Advisory Council discusses issues and offers suggestions relating to enrollment management and student life and wellbeing, to include programming, services, policies and other university initiatives.

“The council has helped me be more involved with student affairs and to give direct opinions and needs from students just like me,” said Shayla Riley-Dorsey, a senior kinesiology student.

“I’ve been able to be a part of producing amazing incentives and helping administration with what students need on Augusta University’s campuses.”

For more information and to submit an application, visit the Student Advisory Council’s website. The 2021-22 application deadline is noon on Friday, Sept. 24.
