The Dental College of Georgia’s chapter of the Student National Dental Association will host its fourth annual Oral Cancer Walk on Saturday, April 22, at Pendleton King Park, 1600 Troupe St. The walk begins at 9 a.m., and participants are asked to meet at the pavilion behind the tank.
In addition to raising awareness of oral cancer, which kills roughly one person every hour, the walk is designed to educate the public on the importance of prevention and screening in order to assist in early detection. After the run/walk, DCG will be offering free oral cancer screenings and information about health and wellness. A portion of the run/walk’s proceeds will be donated to the Oral Cancer Foundation.
The registration fee is $25. Prices increase after 11:59 p.m. on April 15.
