Alumni Weekend Preview: Something for everyone

Don’t miss any of the exciting events during this year’s Alumni Weekend. With parties, lectures, tours, speeches and several reunion dinners, the weekend has something for everyone…and then some.

Drs. Robert and Lois Ellison Lectureship

Thursday, April 28
2-3 p.m.
Lee Auditorium

Hear an informative lecture from Dr. Kevin Campbell titled “Using Social Media to Transform Healthcare.” He will explain how mobile technology has allowed patients to be more connected and allows them to track and record many health indicators. He will also discuss ways in which mobile technology and the electronic patient can utilize social media to improve care and encourage new innovations, ultimately improving outcomes and improving care for patients. Cost: Free.

Art Hardy Memorial Golf Tournament

Friday, April 29
8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Forest Hills Golf Club

Alumni are invited to join Respiratory Therapy faculty, staff and students for a fun day on the golf course. Proceeds benefit respiratory therapy student education and scholarship funds. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost: $75.

President’s Cookout

Saturday, April 30
Noon- 2 p.m.
Twin Gables (Rain location: JSAC Ballroom, Summerville Campus)

Join Augusta University President Brooks Keel and First Lady Tammie Schalue at their home for an old fashioned cookout for alumni, families and students. There will be food and fun for everyone as well as a live band and children’s activities. Cost: Free

Alumni Weekend Signature Event with Archie Manning

Saturday, April 30
5-6:30 p.m.
Maxwell Theatre, Summerville Campus

As a 14-year veteran quarterback and the father of two Super Bowl champion quarterbacks, Archie Manning knows the importance of instilling and living by four principles for success: leadership, depending on others, being flexible and playing the game. In this keynote address, Manning will relate the lessons he’s learned as a player, businessman and father in a way that’s fun and engaging. Cost: $10 for alumni, $15 for non-alumni.

Alumni Weekend Farewell Brunch Honoring the 2016 Jag20 Award Recipients

Sunday, May 1
9:30-10:30 a.m.
Legends Club

Keynote speaker Jeb Blount, Augusta College ’92 and founder of SalesGravy.com, the most visited sales employment website, helps honor the third class of Jag20 award recipients in a hearty, southern-style brunch. Cost: $55 per person
