Interested in learning what it’s like to be at a top medical institution? Want to make your summer meaningful by learning and serving others? The Augusta University VolunJags/VolunTeen program is the place for you. The 2019 summer program is accepting applications until March 1. The program offers local high school students the opportunity to serve side by side with health care professionals while experiencing the daily activities involved in operating a world-class academic medical center.
This year’s theme is “Dream Big!” To dream is to have a vision to create and accomplish great things. Once a dream is created, we make it real by developing a path and arming ourselves with the knowledge to overcome obstacles. Thus, the program’s goal is to uncover the dreams of VolunTeens and Jags and help them learn how to accomplish them.
VolunJags and VolunTeens will have the opportunity to participate in weekly lunch and learn sessions featuring Augusta University’s top leaders in career and professional development. This program offers both classroom and hands-on learning uniquely beneficial to those interested in pursuing future careers in the health sciences fields or just interested in learning while serving others.
The six-week program is June 10–July 19.
