AU doctors join Jennie to talk about inflammation

Dr. Clinton Webb, chairman of the Department of Physiology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, and Dr. Michael P. Madaio, nephrologist and chairman of the Department of Medicine at MCG, recently sat down to discuss their study on how dying cells play a vital role in worsening hypertension.

A $9.4 million dollar Program Project Grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute is helping to further understand the damage of dead and dying cells in the body.

“There is no doubt there are more dead cells in the hypertensive blood vessel,” said Webb.
