26 Jaguars receive D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award

The Division 2 Athletic Directors Association has announced the 2015-16 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award and 26 student-athletes from Augusta University were honored with the accolade.
 
There were a total of 360 Peach Belt Conference student-athletes who received the award overall.
 
Twelve of the 14 PBC member institutions were included on the list with the University of Montevallo leading all conference schools with 61 honorees. As a league, the PBC had the ninth-most students included on the list of all DII conferences.
 
A total of 156 institutions and a record number of student-athletes (8,072) are being recognized for the 2015-16 Academic Achievement Awards.
 
For the fourth-straight year, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) had the most student-athletes honored with 846, followed by the Northeast-10 Conference with 842 student-athletes being provided with this award.
 
In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the athletics director of the Division II institution must be a current dues paying member of the D2 ADA.
 
Also, the student-athletes must:
·         have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
·         have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work
·         have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year
