New all-private-bed medicine unit now open on 8 South

As part of the Transformation Agenda, Adult Inpatient Medicine has embraced clinical growth, quality and enterprise throughput as goals for success in patient care. As part of the throughput goal and in order to better serve our patients, a 15 all-private-bed medicine unit has opened on 8 South.

The unit opened Dec. 15, 2015, with 5-7 beds and will be staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week and 365 days per year.

The nurse manager championing this unit is Sandra Clay, RN. Ultimately, the staff will be comprised of two permanent charge nurses, 12 staff nurses, six patient care technicians and five unit clerks.
