
Elected leaders honored for championing AU’s Medical College of Georgia
U.S. Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter, State Sen. Ben Watson and State Rep. Mark Newton were honored as 2025 Legislative Champions by AU’s Medical College of Georgia.
Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

The annual event was held Sept. 7 on the Summerville Campus.

Dr. Alice Little Caldwell, associate professor of pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia and director of the Newborn Nursery at Augusta University Health System, is the E-cigarette champion for the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
