Augusta University’s School of Computer and Cyber Sciences is proud to announce the addition of four new faculty for the fall 2021 semester: Dr. Sarbottam Bhagat, Dr. Mohsen Jozani, Dr. Jeffrey Morris and Dr. Jason Orlosky.
Dr. Sarbottam Bhagat is an assistant professor of computer and cyber sciences. Bhagat earned his PhD in information systems in 2021 from the University of North Texas. His research interests span social media, information disclosure and privacy, fake news, behavioral information security and adoption/diffusion of emerging technologies. His work has been published in Information Systems Management and International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction. Additionally, his work has been accepted at highly regarded conference proceedings, including International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and The Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). His professional experiences span across operations, business development and consulting. Besides scholarly activities, Bhagat has a keen interest in photography and enjoys traveling.
Dr. Mohsen Jozani is an assistant professor of computer and cyber sciences. Jozani received his PhD in information technology in 2020 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to joining Augusta University, he was an assistant professor of information systems and decision sciences at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. As a multidisciplinary explorer, his research interests are in digital markets, mobile apps, recommendation systems, user reviews, social networks, and privacy and security of information systems. His works have appeared in peer reviewed journals such as Computers in Human Behavior and IEEE Transactions on Big Data.
Dr. Jeffrey Morris is an assistant professor with the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. Morris earned his doctorate from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 2014, where he researched modeling and simulation of quantum encryption devices. He also earned master’s degrees from the National Defense University and Nova Southeastern University. He has been teaching academic courses since 2008 both online and in the classroom at several schools, including three years as an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Dr. Jason Orlosky is an associate professor with the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. Orlosky has been working on research topics such as augmented reality, visualization, eye tracking and artificial intelligence since 2011. He earned his PhD in information systems engineering in 2016 from Osaka University, Japan. Some of his research goals include improving the safety and usability of virtual interfaces, promoting cross-functional and interdisciplinary research efforts and better understanding the human brain and its relationship with machines. He was funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship for research on intelligent augmented reality from 2015 to 2017, by the U.S. Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG) for his work on vision enhancement from 2017 to 2021, and this year his research on cognitive symbiosis received four more years of funding from JSPS.
“We enthusiastically welcome Dr. Bhagat, Dr. Jozani, Dr. Morris and Dr. Orlosky to Augusta University! Their expertise strengthens our school’s research in several areas, including social media, privacy and security, behavioral information security, digital markets, recommendation systems, quantum key distribution, and virtual and augmented reality,” says School of Computer and Cyber Sciences Dean Dr. Alex Schwarzmann. “The school has gained substantial momentum in the last two years in research and education, and with our increasing visibility, we expect to attract more excellent faculty.”
