DCM going downtown, Advancement to move into Professional Building 1

Two big moves are happening at Augusta University during spring semester.

First, the Division of Communications and Marketing will relocate to downtown Augusta on Feb. 24-25. DCM’s new location at 643 Broad St. is a two-story brick office building directly connected to 699 Broad.

While the historic high-rise boasts an Augusta University shield on its east and west sides, the smaller adjacent structure at 643 Broad provides DCM a windowed storefront for additional branding.

DCM’s new location beside the 699 Broad St. building widens the scope of Augusta University on Broad.

Augusta University on Broad will now include the Human Resources division, Georgia Correctional HealthCare, Clinical Outreach, and the teams associated with the AU Health partnerships with Philips and Beckman-Coulter in the 699 Broad tower, as well as the new DCM headquarters at 643 Broad St.

You may continue to reach DCM at 721-7406 or submit an online DCM Project Request for consultation and services.

The new Office of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement will be housed on the first floor in Professional Building 1.

Second, the Office of Advancement will move into Professional Building 1 on March 9-10. Advancement, which includes the Central Office; Advancement Operations; Alumni Affairs; Donor Engagement and Stewardship (which encompasses Advancement Communications, Annual Giving, Donor Relations, and Prospect Development); Foundations, Finance and Accounting; and Major Gifts will move into the former DCM space on the first floor at 1481 Laney-Walker Blvd.

Combining fundraising and alumni relations in one location is expected to foster more successful engagement and fundraising among alumni, donors and friends. With the Advancement move comes the renaming of the office to Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement.

To reach the new Office of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement, please call 721-4001 or visit the Professional Building following the move.

The development teams for Children’s Hospital of Georgia and the Georgia Cancer Center will remain embedded in those locations.

The Alumni Center at 919 15th St. will be decanted and demolished in the coming months and converted to more parking, which remains in high demand on the Health Sciences Campus. The moves are essential steps in accommodating tremendous growth at Augusta University.

University leaders ask for your patience and apologize in advance for any delays in service during these transitions.
