President Brooks A. Keel announces interim EVP for finance

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce Greg Damron as interim executive vice president for finance and chief financial officer for Augusta University and Augusta University Health System, a position previously held by Tony Wagner, who will assume a new role as chief financial officer for Clemson University in February.

Greg brings to the position 20 years of experience as a finance executive, with expertise in strategic financial planning and analysis, treasury management, decision support systems, and performance improvement activities at all levels of the organization.

Greg currently serves as vice president for finance and chief financial officer for AU Health, where his responsibilities include strategic planning, accounting, financial reporting, setting of financial policy, tax compliance, revenue cycle management and supply chain management.

Prior to joining the health system in 2008, Greg held progressively responsible positions at Duke University Health System. Most recently, as divisional chief financial officer, he managed, planned, and organized the financial operations of Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

Greg is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Health Financial Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Public Accountants.

AU Health has benefitted much from Greg’s expertise and leadership over the years, and I look forward to him doing the same for Augusta University. Please join me in welcoming Greg to his new role.

Sincerely,

Brooks A. Keel, PhD

President, Augusta University

CEO, AU Health System
