Power loss restored to Health Sciences Campus after powerline failure

At approximately 10:05 a.m., power was lost to the southern end of the Health Sciences Campus when an underground connection on a high voltage powerline failed.

Effected buildings included the Cancer Research Center, the Interdisciplinary Research Center, the Sanders Research and Education Building, the Health Sciences Building and the Stoney Building.

In addition, Augusta University Medical Center experienced a slight elevation in temperature when the central energy plant was down.

As of 12:30, power has been restored to effected buildings and no further disruptions in service are expected.
