During ‘Winter Holidays,’ students traded exam stress for holiday cheer

Sponsored by both the Office of Student Life and Engagement and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Finals Frenzy event “Winter Holidays Around the World” was a chance to look beyond Christmas and learn more about what other countries, cultures and people celebrate around this time of year.

Set up in the JSAC Breezeway, the event had several tables offering different holiday treats and information about many winter holidays celebrated, including Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and the Chinese Harbin Ice and Snow Festival.

In addition, students were able to partake in some stress-relieving activities, including educational coloring pages. These pages were a stress-free way to learn about gelt, the dreidel, the menorah, the Kwanzaa greeting meeting ‘Habari Gani’ and the seven principles celebrated each night of Kwanzaa.
