GOLF Magazine: Local Augusta students exchange pencils for pimentos

Augusta has been home to the Masters Tournament for more than 80 years, and when the tournament is on, school is out.

Many students use this time to catch up on final projects or go out of town. However, other students in the community work because they know the tournament will give them an opportunity to earn a little cash.

Augusta University students were recently interviewed for GOLF magazine about their experiences working at the Masters Tournament. Cashiers working in the merchandise tent make $9 an hour for the first 40 hours and $13 an hour after that, according to LaSherrica Christian, a psychology major.
