The Washington Times: Spiritual therapy for PTSD

A researcher in Augusta is exploring the use of spiritual therapy to treat veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Nagy Youssef, a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Augusta University, is conducting a study at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center that could help veterans with PTSD.

“(When) somebody goes to combat, seeing friends being killed and killing others,” Youssef said, “spirituality can be affected.”
