Former female Athlete of the Year on choosing the right running shoes

As part of our continuing coverage of Augusta University alumnus and volunteer assistant coach Pardon Ndhlovu’s Olympic journey, we’re showcasing various ways other community and university stories intersect with his.

In this example, Augusta University alumna Jenafer McCauley, co-owner of Fleet Feet Sports Augusta, walks us through the importance of choosing the right pair of running shoes. Though Ndhlovu didn’t own his first pair of running shoes until he came to the U.S., he now collects them … not for himself, but for those back in his native Zimbabwe who can’t afford them.

McCauley, who made it to the NCAA Division II Regionals four times and to the Nationals once, was named the university’s female Athlete of the Year in 2009.
