Augusta University graduate, postdoctoral fellow awarded during VA Research Week

Merry Ma, a graduate research assistant in the Medical College of Georgia’s Brann Lab, and Xiangdong Sun, a postdoctoral fellow in MCG’s Mei Lab, were awarded for their studies during Veterans Administration Research Week at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center on May 20, 2016.

Ma won the student award for her study titled “Role of NADPH oxidase-2 in inflammasome activation after traumatic brain injury.”

Sun won the postdoctoral award for his study titled “Lrp4 in astrocytes modulates glutamatergic transmission.”

National VA Research Week is celebrated annually to showcase the achievements of VA researchers and medical affiliates.
