Parking and Transportation Updates

Additional Parking Spaces

Augusta University has leased an additional 110 parking spaces near the Health Sciences Campus from Antioch Baptist Church just south of Lot 61 (Laney‐Walker Stadium Lot). Labeled Lot 71 on the Parking Map, these spaces may be used by any Augusta University parking permit holder Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., when a valid parking permit is displayed. The Parking and Transportation Office suggests utilizing the shuttle service from nearby Lot 61 to avoid crossing R.A. Dent Boulevard.

Accessible (Disability) Parking Spaces

The Parking and Transportation Office has made some changes to the Accessible (Disability) Parking Space Procedures.

Effective immediately, Accessible (Disability) parking located on the Augusta University campus is only for drivers with state‐issued disability license plates, permanent disability placards or temporary disability parking permits.

Faculty, staff and students who use disability parking spaces on campus must display both the appropriate disability placard and their Augusta University parking permit and must also register their disability placard with the Parking and Transportation Office.

Information on how to obtain a state‐issued disability placard may be found on the Augusta University parking website.

More Evening Parking Spaces Now Available

Effective May 1, 2016, any Augusta University parking permit holder may park in available individual reserved spaces after 5 p.m.

In an effort to provide greater flexibility for parking patrons coming to campus or hospital facilities after 5 p.m., Parking and Transportation Services is adjusting the enforcement times for reserved parking spaces. New signs will be posted at the entrance to each affected parking lot or deck announcing this change.

Reserved parking will be enforced Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise posted on the appropriate reserved space sign.

Those reserved space holders who keep different hours as a matter of routine should contact David Santa Ana or Beth Bryson at the Parking and Transportation Office.
