Email migration to begin: What you need to know

The following email was distributed to Augusta University faculty, staff and students by Dr. Karla Leeper, Executive Vice President for Strategic Communications:

Dear Colleagues,

As part of the Augusta University rebrand project, the Division of Information Technology will migrate our university email domain from @gru.edu to @augusta.edu over the next several weeks.

IT will migrate university students, faculty and staff March 28-April 8; health system employees April 15; and all remaining departments April 18. A more detailed schedule can be found on our email migration site.

All migrations will occur in the hours between midnight and 6 a.m. to minimize disruptions to work and school activities. You will receive an email notification from IT when your email address will change overnight; it will include instructions on how to update your settings once the migration is complete. The process is simple, and resources will be made available to aid the transition.

I appreciate your patience as we continue to work through all the technical implications of our rebranding. And while there is no ideal time to make such a change, we have made every effort to work closely with our IT staff and campus leadership to minimize any inconvenience this transition may cause. We appreciate your support of Augusta University and look forward to continuing to work together!

For additional information, FAQs and further updates about this project, visit our email migration site or call the Help Desk at 706-721-4000.

Sincerely,

Karla Leeper
