Jags to host Day of Service game

In September, 970 staff members, faculty, students and their families participated in the Augusta University Day of Service.

Those participants will be recognized on Saturday when the Augusta men’s and women’s basketball teams host the Day of Service game at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Day of Service participants volunteered across the CSRA on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. The volunteers served 48 locations and helped with tasks such as lawn work, river cleanup and painting.

The Day of Service game will begin Saturday at 1:30 p.m. when the lady Jaguars tip off against the Lander Bearcats. The men’s game will begin at 3:30 p.m.

All Day of Service participants are invited to attend the games and will receive free entry. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Day of Service T-Shirt to the game.

Additionally, the first 500 fans to arrive at Christenberry will receive a new Augusta Jaguars wristband, and all fans will have the opportunity to take home an “I Love Augusta University” yard sign.

In between the women’s and men’s games, a group photo will be taken on the gym floor with the Day of Service participants.

The Grovetown Elementary Jumping Jaguars, a youth jump rope group, will provide entertainment at halftime of the men’s game. The Day of Service Committee will also be recognized at halftime.
