Lighthouse Lymphedema Network to host free lecture on battling lymphatic disorder

The Lighthouse Lymphedema Network, along with the Cancer Center at Augusta University, invites you to a CME-Accredited Dinner lecture titled “Lymphatics and Lymphedema: New and Emerging Research and Treatment” on Feb. 25, 2016, at the Snelling Conference Center at Edgar’s Grille.

Lymphedema, also referred to as lymphatic obstruction, is the condition of localized fluid retention and swelling as a result of a compromised lymphatic system. Though lymphedema can result from parasitic infection and injury, it is frequently caused by cancer treatment.

As of 2008, more than 140 million people worldwide are afflicted with some form of lymphedema.

Attendees of the lecture will be provided with the latest informative research regarding lymphedema, including proper diagnosis and best practice treatments.

Key speakers include Dr. Stanley G. Rockson of Stanford Health Care and Dr. J. Brandon Dixon of the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Registration is required as space is limited. To reserve your space, visit lighthouselymphedema.org or email bhunterb@kennesaw.edu to register online.

This Continuing Medical Education Program is free for physicians and physician assistants only.

The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University designates this live activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
