Heroes in Health Care: Dec. 14-18

Every week, Jagwire highlights the exceptional care shown by our GRHealth medical professionals in a segment we like to call “Heroes in Health Care.”

This week’s installment of Heroes in Health Care begins in Geriatric Medicine, where Dr. Dean Harrell, assistant professor of internal medicine, is solving some… tricky problems.

“Dr. Harrell is very insightful,” one grateful patient said. “He determined that I had a problem and diagnosed it, even though I wasn’t planning to tell him!”

Next we move to the Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology, where Dr. Thomas Kiernan is changing lives and perceptions one visit at a time.

“Dr. Kiernan is the best at explaining everything so that you can understand,” one patient said. “He truly cares.”

In the same division, the staff is earning some praise as well.

“I love dealing with your offices and people,” one patient said. “You always treat me with respect.”

Over in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Residency Program Coordinator Chadburn Ray was the subject of a very flattering shout-out.

“Dr. Ray is the best physician I have ever had in any field,” one patient said. “He is genuinely concerned and listens. He truly cares about his patients, and he really gets to know you.”

Another patient in the same department had this to say:

“Dr. Ray and his staff are excellent providers,” the patient said. “I believe I received the best possible care.”

And finally, to round us out this week we move once again to the Movement Disorders Program, where the staff are hardwired to go above and beyond for their patients.

“The staff made sure I was covered when I walked in the hall,” the patient said. “I was double gowned. I am a very modest person, and this was very important to me. Thank you so much for respecting my wishes.”

Please join us in congratulating our colleagues for their hard work and dedication to providing excellent patient care outcomes! Be sure to check back next Monday for the latest installment of Heroes in Health Care.
