On Monday, the president of the University of Missouri system resigned  as a result of many UM students and faculty openly revolting over what they saw as  racial discrimination at the school.  In response to these protests, Georgia Regents University will host a “Let’s talk racism and reactions in higher education” forum discussion at 6pm on Monday, Nov. 16, in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom on the Summerville Campus.

Leading the discussion will be Dr. Quincy Byrdsong, GRU’s Vice President for Academic Planning and  Strategic Initiatives, and panelists include Clint Bryant, GRU’s Director of Athletic; Dr. Todd Powell-Williams; Assistant Professor in GRU’s Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work; Dr. Scott Wallace, GRU’s Dean of Student Life, Enrollment, and Student Affairs; and Dr. Lindsey West, Assistant Professor in GRU’s Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior.

This program is hosted by GRU’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Student Government Association, Student Diversity, and Residence Life. For more information, contact the university’s Office of Student Life and Engagement.
