ComFest 2015 invites local sports writer to campus

Of all the opportunities available to university students, few have more impact than the chance to meet and learn from successful professionals in their given career field.

ComFest, an annual best practices seminar hosted Dr. Terri Sasser of the Department of Communications, is a storied tradition that gives students a chance to do just that.

This year, ComFest welcomed Wayne Staats to campus. Staats, a sports writer for the Augusta Chronicle, is well-known throughout the CSRA for his dedication to covering local sports and his talented, player-focused storytelling.

In addition to offering students great advice about managing their social media presence and encouraging them to always be honest reporters, Staats shared insight into a number of other areas important to both sports- and non-sports-related reporters alike.
