Military Appreciation Week at GRU

Operation JAGMAW (Jaguar Military Appreciation Week) will take place at Georgia Regents University Feb. 16-21. Throughout the week, GRU will honor members of the United States Armed Forces with special discounts and free admission to events. There also will be static displays strategically placed at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The week will culminate with a game day Ring of Honor for Fort Gordon soldiers and a swearing in ceremony to take place during halftime at the nationally televised game on Saturday, Feb. 21. Jaguar fans will receive free camouflage shirts and hand-held American flags. Players from GRU and Lander will be wearing camouflage basketball jerseys to be auctioned. Funds from the auction will go to assist military families.

Military Appreciation Week events:

Feb. 18

GRU vs. Francis Marion Basketball Game, 7:30 p.m. Homecoming Court announced at halftime.

Feb. 20

Jaguar Jam & Bonfire, 6-9 p.m. Christenberry Fieldhouse, lower parking lot. $5 admission or 2 cans of food. Attendees receive a free meal.

Feb. 21

Tailgate Party, 9 a.m. until tip-off. GRU Athletic Complex, soccer field.

GRU vs. Lander, noon. Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Ring of Honor for Fort Gordon soldiers, halftime.

Military Appreciation Program, halftime, to include swearing in ceremony.
