Veterans Day ceremony set for Nov. 12 at Georgia War

The Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12 in the Charles Esposito Courtyard.

Brigadier General Christopher L. Eubank will be the guest speaker, and Augusta University’s Wycliffe Gordon and Friends, and the Lakeside High School Drill Team will perform.

Veterans Day, which began 100 years ago as Armistice Day, is a national holiday observance honoring America’s veterans for their patriotism, service and sacrifice for the common good.

About 155 of the nation’s war veterans currently live in Georgia War’s award-winning facility, which is operated by Augusta University Health in partnership with the Georgia Department of Veterans Service.
