Pre-paid tuition assistance program available for AU Medical Center employees

AU Medical Center is committed to recruiting, hiring and retaining the best possible staff and is supportive of employee professional growth and development.  I am pleased to announce a new Pre-paid Tuition program for employees of the medical center who meet program requirements and who are enrolled in a degree program at Augusta University.  The medical center will pre-pay basic tuition costs on behalf of the employee directly to Augusta University, up to a maximum of $3,500 each fiscal year.

Similar to the Tuition Reimbursement program, the Pre-Paid Tuition program will require coursework to be related to the employees’ current position or planned career development at AU Medical Center and meet the requirements of an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or doctoral program, or, must be a course required by the employee’s manager in order to be reviewed for approval by the Tuition Assistance Committee.

For employees enrolled in other colleges and universities, the current tuition reimbursement program will continue to be offered as part of the Tuition Assistance policy; however, there will be a modification to the per fiscal year maximum reimbursement amount beginning fiscal year 2019 (July 1, 2018) from $3,000 to $2,500.

A new Tuition Assistance web page is available and includes links to the new policy, eligibility requirements and application form as well as other important information about this new program.
