Pink Pumpkin Party in photos

The GRU Cancer Center’s inaugural Pink Pumpkin Party in support of Breast Cancer Awareness was held Saturday, Oct. 3, and despite less-than-optimal weather, proved a significant success. More than 50 people pre-registered for one of the special pink pumpkins and many chose to stay, decorate their pumpkins and show their support for the GRU Cancer Center Breast Team’s mission.

Christine O’Meara, Director of Cancer Information and Awareness at the Cancer Center, noted that the crowd cut across community lines and included community members, members of the Breast Team, patients and survivors and volunteers and that an event survey indicated interest in making the party an annual event.
