Phi Kappa Phi to host Student Research and Fine Arts Conference March 8

The Augusta University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi will host its 18th Annual Phi Kappa Phi Student Research and Fine Arts Conference on Wednesday, March 8 at noon in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom.

The conference, which allows undergraduate students (including non-PKP students) from both the Summerville and Health Sciences campuses to showcase their scholarly and artistic endeavors, runs from noon to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public. A conference reception will take place at 5 p.m., also in the JSAC Ballroom.

Started in the spring of 1999, the conference has since become synonymous with undergraduate student excellence on both of the university’s Augusta campuses, and was featured in the summer 2013 issue of the “Phi Kappa Phi Forum,” the official magazine of Phi Kappa Phi.

Dr. Ken Sufka, author of the best-selling book The A Game: Nine Steps to Better Grades – a student-oriented academic success text adopted by many colleges and universities across the U.S – will deliver the keynote address. Sufka is a professor of Psychology at The University of Mississippi with joint appointments in Pharmacology and Philosophy.

Sufka has published more than 75 research articles in his career. Recent work from his lab includes the development of a drug-efficacy screening procedure for treatment-resistant depression that received a U.S. patent in April 2016.
