Meet Nugget, the new Children’s Hospital facility dog

Nugget, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever, officially joined the Children’s Hospital of Georgia staff as a full-time facility dog with Child Life Services. Nugget will help pediatric patients cope with daunting procedures, help normalize visits and hospital stays and provide gentle support for CHOG families. Also joining the team with Nugget is her “dog mom” and companion Harleigh Turner, a Child Life specialist. “Nugget will work a 40-hour week, right along with me,” Turner said. Nugget comes to CHOG through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals funding. Check out these photos from Nugget’s welcome party on Nov. 17.
